What is a High Density-Data Centre?

We use the measurement ‘Kilowatts’ to measure the density per cabinet and since mid-2016 a Data Centre that uses more than 10 kW per cabinet is known as a high-density Data Centre. Another way of measuring Data Centre Density is by measuring how much energy is consumed per square of the floor space. Typically, a high-density Data Centre is one using more than 150kW per square foot.
